From the Principal
I would like to officially welcome everyone back to 2025. I would especially like to welcome our Prep children and families and our new families to the Bellmere School community.
We have had a very positive first week. The children have settled well into their classrooms. It is wonderful to see the strong connections being formed and the excellent attitude to their learning.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year of growth and achievement in our students. This achievement is not just academic, it is also developing their social and emotional wellbeing and developing all their skills and talents. Our students are offered a wide range of curriculum and extra-curricula activities. This includes sports, music, choir, technology challenge days, sustainability, and many other activities through out the year.
It takes a team approach to support children’s development. At Bellmere, we value the partnership we have with parents and the wider school community. Thank you to all parents for your continued support.

Celebration of 2024 Academic Results
Each year we strive to improve as a school and improve the outcomes for our students. Queensland Education promotes Equity and Excellence as their key strategy to improve student outcomes. P–2 is Starting Strong and 3–6 is Building the Foundations. This strategy then extends into secondary school.
Last year we achieved outstanding results in relation to our school goals. Our results for English P–2 and 3–6 have been the best results recorded. This is for both C+ and A and B grades. Our 3–6 maths results were the best for C+ and A and B grades.
I would like to congratulate the hard work of our dedicated staff and the persistence of our students in their learning. Well done for all the hard work in 2024, not just the academic results but the advances in students social and emotional development.
These results are a true reflection of the partnership between school and families.
The table below shows the results for the past 5 years in a percentage of student who received C+ grades and A/B grades in percentages.
The green line is our 2024 results, and the AIP targets are the goals we set for 2024. As you can see, we exceeded all our goals.

Attendance and Arriving On Time
It is vital that students attend school every day (except when ill) and that they are on time. This is the time of the day where teachers set children up for a successful day, going through the plan of the day, making any announcements and connecting with the class. If a child misses this part of the day, they are not prepared for a positive day of learning.
Children are not supervised prior to 8:15am. Children should not be dropped off before this time without a parent supervising them.
8:15: The front gate opens. There is no supervision before this time. If you require you child to be here earlier than 8:15am, you can contact Before School Care.
8:45: First bell goes ready for teachers to pick up the children.
8:50: Students unpack bag and move into class.
8:55: Teaching begins.
It is vital students are here ready to learn at 8:55am. If students are late, they are to go through the office area to collect a late slip.
