School Carpark
School Pick Up
At Bellmere State School, we have taken great care in observing students and motorist actions in the school car park and pick up line. After our observations and in conjunction with the local council and the transport department, we believe that we have created the best and safest way to ensure that all students and their families get home safely and have a good experience when collecting their children after school.
The after school pick up line is staffed by school staff and works really well if everyone participating in this activity follows the rules that we have set in place.
The following are the rules we expect all our students and their families to follow:
- Please follow all instructions given to you by a Bellmere SS staff member – either when you are in a vehicle or waiting to cross at the crossing.
- We ask that your interactions with all staff is respectful – they have been tasked with keeping everyone safe and take their role very seriously.
- Remember to set a good example for all those around you when driving or walking – no riding scooters or bikes across crossings, waiting behind the yellow line, always using the marked crossing.
- All students being collected from the pick up line must wait inside the school grounds, on the grassed area, until called by a staff member to enter their vehicle. This is after you have crossed over both car park crossings.
- Do not cut in on other cars that are in the line waiting to collect their children.
We respectfully ask that you follow the instructions of our staff and do not let your children enter your vehicle until it has passed over both of the crossings. If they do try to enter your car before the crossing, please send them back into the school grounds to wait for you to get over both crossings and for them to be called by the staff to let them know it is safe for them to get into the car with you.
School Drop Off
The drop off lane in the carpark is for 2 minute set down only. We ask that parents do not park in the drop off lane and exit their cars. If you need to walk your children into school, please park in the carpark and use the zebra crossings to enter the school.
We appreciate your cooperation with these school rules and your assistance in helping to keep all our staff, students and motorists safe.
