Bellmere Munch! Crunch! and Lunch!
Here at Bellmere we have several Food Support programs for our students and wider school community.
Breakfast Club (Munch!)
Currently held on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from the hall kitchen. A selection of toast and fruit is available from 8:15 to 8:40am. This service is partly funded from the Dept of Communities and your generous donations. It is prepared by volunteers. This program could be expanded to further days with additional volunteers – have you considered volunteering at the school? Breakfast Club would love to have you!
Breakfast is also available for anyone who may need it on Tuesday/Thursday by teacher referral to the Junior Regulation Station – where sandwiches, fruit and cereal are available.
Healthy Snack! (Crunch!)
Our Crunch program is partly funded by the Queensland Education Food Program. A selection of seasonal fruit and vegetables is available for anyone who may need a healthy snack at snack time. Teachers can send students to the Junior Regulation Station to ask Chappy for a snack.
Lunch Program (Lunch!)
As the name suggests – any student who requires lunch can be supplied with a sandwich and healthy snack – this can be for a number a reason including – referral from teachers, Lost or stolen (our Ibis are quite clever at opening bags and lunchboxes!), left at home, or as part of a parent support plan organised though the office. The lunch program is an emergency or temporary arrangement and not designed to take away from expectation of supply from home.
****NEW ****Bellmere State School Community Tiny Pantry! (Extended Munch!)
The Bellmere State School Wellbeing Team is pleased to let the school community know that we now have a Tiny Pantry available for those who may need a helping hand!
The pantry will have a stock of non-perishable items and depending on donations and availability a limited supply of some fridge items. (Fridge items will be a ticket system to allow office staff to get items from the fridge.)
The Tiny pantry is located just inside the office door for convenience and safety - there is no need to see office staff. (Unless for fridge items) We respectfully ask that you would only take the items you need.
Items for this pantry are being partly supported by the Qld Education food program. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the pantry as well! Please make sure the items you donate are sealed and within use by date range. Donations can be left in the donation basket in the pantry.
