Week 3 Adventures – Bugs & Insects!
We had a fantastic day filled with bug-themed fun and new friendships! Indoors, we explored insects in our sensory tray with magnifying glasses, freed bugs from boxes (great for hand-eye coordination), and created symmetrical butterflies and chalk shadow art. Our playdough station revealed bug imprints, sparking lots of curiosity and creativity.
Group time included a warm welcome to new families, with song lyrics displayed so everyone could join in. Outside, we did a science activity watching caterpillars grow with drops of water—an excellent chance to practice turn-taking. The mud kitchen, sandpit (with dinosaurs!), bike riding, and cocoon painting kept everyone engaged.
In our second session, we focused on fine motor skills with tracing, colouring, and a fun (and slightly challenging!) hole-punch ladybug craft. Small world play with the treehouse and dollhouse encouraged imagination and storytelling.

Week 4 Highlights
This week we celebrated International Tiger Day by making paper plate tigers, tearing orange paper for stripes and adding sticker eyes—great for fine motor skills and imagination!
Our playdough activity included hidden numbers, beads, and pipe cleaners, helping with number recognition, counting, and hand-eye coordination.
The mat was set up for creative play with tents and cubbies, and our sensory tray featured a tiger-themed small world, sparking storytelling and exploration.
Outside, the mud kitchen turned into a dress-up café, with Batman, Ironman, and a Fairy Princess making appearances! Painting on the grass was a big hit with the kids.
During our second session, children loved building mini sandcastles with kinetic sand. Peg boards were especially engaging—one little one enjoyed them so much Mum ordered some for home! We also traced around letters and numbers, chatting about what they were and practicing early literacy.
Thanks for another fun-filled week of learning through play!
