From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Last Friday afternoon we held our annual Grandparents Day. This was a wonderful afternoon with many activities happening around the school.
It was lovely seeing so many grandparents!. This was a great celebration for our grandparents and students.
This week is very busy with many activities happening.
On Tuesday, we have some of our senior leaders going to a forum at Pumicestone State School.
On Wednesday, we have our choir performing on parade.
On Thursday, we are participating in the Day for Daniel, where we encourage children to wear red and give a gold coin donation to support child safety education.
On Friday is World Teachers Day and our annual Colour Run.
WORLD TEACHERS DAY
This Friday we celebrate ‘World Teachers Day’. On this day we celebrate the fantastic work of our teachers. This year’s theme is “Hats Off to our Teachers”.
I would like to thank all of our teachers for the passion, care, and enthusiasm they bring to the classrooms.
I am very grateful for the teaching staff at Bellmere SS as they continue to support students to develop into the very best version of themselves. Their hard work and passion makes a difference in the lives of our students every day.
I encourage our parents to take a moment and thank their child’s teacher for they work they do. A few kind words can make a huge impact.
COLOUR RUN
On Friday we have our Colour Run. This is always a fun and exciting day. I would like to thank our P&C for their huge effort to put this great event together. They do a power of work to support our school and provide opportunities for our students to have great experiences like our Colour Run. This is one of the biggest fundraising events for the school. Thank you to the P&C for the enormous amount of work done
SCHOOL REVIEW
In Week 10 of Term 3 we had our school review. We have received our review report. The executive summary of the review will be uploaded onto our school website by next week.
Some of the highlights and affirmations from the review were:
- Teachers, parents and the school community highlighted the visibility and child-focus approach of the leadership team and expressed a high level of confidence in the school’s direction.
 - The school’s commitment to learning, wellbeing and engagement.
 - There is a clear focus on collaboration amongst staff that fosters a shared responsibility for student outcomes.
 - Leaders and staff are uniting in the belief that every child can learn with the right supports and time.
 - Parents and community members admire the school’s inclusive culture and care for the students.
 - Staff and community members voice that they value community partnerships for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports all students.
 - Parents praised teachers for their approachability and regular communication.

ROAD SAFETY
It is very important that children are safe coming to school and returning home. We have had several reports suggesting children are being unsafe on their bikes and scooter. A few reminders:
- Children must wear a helmet when riding a bike or scooter.
 - When riding it is important to use the school crossing when crossing the road and not to ride between cars.

In Queensland it is illegal to ride an electric scooter if you are under 12. Please be reminded that children should not be riding electric scooters to school.
